Do you ever feel lost? Do you ever feel stress, anxiety, or struggle to sleep? I know that I did. After years of feeling loss, experiencing stress, anxiety and struggling at times to sleep I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to help others feel relaxed happy and learn how to sleep.

I am a writer, life coach, and meditation teacher. I make guided meditations, meditations, and resources to help with sleep, reduce stress, aid study and promote well-being. I hold an Honours degree in Anthropology and a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia, and have worked as a personal trainer, life coach, speaker, and Guided meditation teacher for many years. I present a podcast called ‘Being Well with Lauren’ and I have a virtual wellness centre where you can download meditations and resources for happiness, guided meditation, stress reduction, and well-being. In my book Daily Rituals for Happiness, I candidly share my personal experience of loss, childhood bullying, relationship challenges, and the many ups and downs of being a single mum. I try to offer hope, support and practical advice to readers. I love what I do and feel like you as my viewer or listener are my friend.

Today is the first day in my five-day course exploring how we can find balance in the mayhem of our daily lives. So grab a nice cup of tea and let's explore balance.

What is balance?
Balance is the state of having your weight spread equally using your body so that you do not fall. But balance is more than this balance is also about having the ability to move or to remain in a position without losing control or falling...emotionally and physically.

As part of your homework for this course answer the following questions:

Write about what our western culture teaches us.

Our western style of living encourages speed convenience and multitasking. How does this manic existence make you feel? Discuss

How does the western style of living affect your sense of self?

Do we have to be part of the madding crowd? In other words, do we have to be like everyone else?

What happens or can happen when we do our own thing rather than conform to the social norm?

What are your values?

What is balance?

What does living a balanced life mean for you?
